  • LGBTQ Youth in Care

    Speak Out (2014-2017)

    SpeakOut is a national study investigating lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning (LGBTQ) young people’s experiences of the care system.

    SpeakOut was funded by the Economic and Social Research Council and ran between 2014 and 2017. Data collection finished in 2016 and the findings were first disseminated at the launch conference on 26th June 2017.

  • Inclusive Care: Experiences of LGBTQ+ children and young people in care

    This report by Social Finance, LGBTQ+ Youth in Care and nine LGBTQ+ care experienced adults, shares our insights from exploring the experiences and outcomes of LGBTQ+ children and young people in care. It sets out practical recommendations that the care system can take forwards to improve data, relationships and training.

    Our ambition is for an inclusive care system, where all LGBTQ+ children and young people receive the support they need in line with the rights of every child.

  • LYPSA

    The Lgbtq+ Young People in Social cAre (LYPSA) project includes several studies seeking to understand and improve the social care experiences of sexual and gender minority youth in England.
